Tattoos are one of those things that many people absolutely love while many can’t even stand the sight of them. I personally love tattoos and almost always have one or two temporary ones on me. However, I am one of those people who are way too indecisive to actually muster up the courage to get a permanent one. There is always that fear of waking up one day and suddenly hating the tattoo which I am meant to live with for the rest of my life. However, for people who aren’t as indecisive as me, love for tattoos give many people a new meaning of life, a method of defining oneself, or simply an artistic hobby.
In most cases people get their first tattoo with a meaning for it in mind. I have met quite a number of people who had a tattoo inscribed in the memory of a lost friend or family.
It is also very common for couples to get matching tattoos to represent their love for one another. Since tattoos are permanent they often hold a greater value to tattoo lovers, compared to rings and bands.
Tattoo is often a medium for people to demonstrate or represent their uniqueness through. It also acts as an escape for people who are considerably different from the generic society and allows them to feel liberated through expressing themselves in an artistic manner.
Tattoos often act as a fresh start for people with a difficult past that they have overcome. For example, cancer patients who win against the battle of life and death often get tattoos to represent their victory or simply to mark the start of a new beginning in their life. In case of breast cancer patients, in most cases it becomes necessary to partially or completely remove their breasts. It usually leaves a horrible scar on their chest and often causes the patients to go into depression. However, as I was reading up about breast cancer one day I came across a website where I got to know that it is possible for cancer patients to get nipples tattooed on the scars that the cancer and mastectomy leaves them with. As I went through the comment section I found out that many cancer patients have actually done it and they seemed really happy and satisfied with it, in fact, many were grateful for it. Some of them confessed that it allowed them to be able to see themselves in the mirror without feeling depressed and defeated. It gave them their confidence back. Whoever came up with it has done a beautiful thing. It may seem like a minor factor to most people but it is definitely one of those things which restore my faith in humanity.
This is a breast cancer patient who won the battle against death. The tattoo is stunningly beautiful, isn’t it?
There is a new trend going on in the tattoo world which is gaining popularity every passing day! Did you know that you could get your eyebrows tattooed (microblading) to the perfect shape and get your eyeliner done too? You can also get your lips tattooed to which ever shade you would like for them to be! Tattooing eyeballs is possible as well! Just imagine waking up in the morning looking absolutely on point and then you can be like, “Yup, I woke up like this!”
There are countless reasons to why people get tattooed or love tattoos, the ones that I have mentioned above are only a few. There are also plenty of people who get tattoos simply because they love it, without any particular reason. It is also very common for people to get certain tattoos simply because they liked the way it looked and has no other reason or meaning behind getting it. There are also plenty of people who consider it a hobby. However, just like any other hobby, at times it can be quite addicting. But as long as it doesn’t cause any bodily harm, it all looks pretty darn cool!
